Lots to update then.

Things were up and down over the weekend for various reasons, but all in all (as BeetleJuice says) 'Third time's a charm'. Best one so far, due in no small part to knowing more people this time, and those people being total stars (you know who you are)
Whitby for me was actually organised well in advance for a change, so apart from some cash hassle all was well with the world. Packing was done in a hurry due to me trying to finish off a project that I needed for the weekend, so I managed to forget shaving things and book that gives me money. But by the time I realised[livejournal.com profile] rainbowskye and I were at the wrong end of a bypass, so I decided to worry about that later.
We made pretty good time through the Peak district and landed for tea and food and to pick up [livejournal.com profile] gipsy_queen and [livejournal.com profile] ashe_black. All fed up (in the good way) we headed to make a quick visit before starting the final leg off to Whitters.
Pulled up outside the cottage (a wonderous place, overlooking the Captain Cooke museum and the harbour) around 7, then had to track down [livejournal.com profile] trashcan17 and [livejournal.com profile] poggs in the Elsinore to get keys.
Everyone too knackered to go anywhere I popped out for one beer to the Elsi then back to play Zombies and try to play Munchkin.
Thursday arrived and we finally dragged ourselves out to the Spa to get wristbands, a little shopping done, and plenty of me trying to organise getting more cash too me (it wasn't too easy but I hit upon a plan in the end that worked).
Pre getting ready [livejournal.com profile] sarah_mum and (I believe) [livejournal.com profile] thepurplegoth, popped over to try and heckle the Dracula talk/walk that was for a time in the car park and nicely visible from my attic room window.
Didn't really see much band wise on Thursday, and felt quite out of sorts for a few reasons, although sporadic fun bits lifted spirits like bumping into [livejournal.com profile] mofette again with her other half in tow, so I left the Spa early and spent some time finishing me little project and watching bad snowy tv. The owners of the cottage must have a vicious streak a mile wide judging by the polite note left on top of tv "We apologise for the bad reception, we are currently waiting to have satellite installed", we survived though.
Friday presented the chance to get some shopping in the Spa, much drooling was done over expensive shiny things, and a squeeze/hello and chat with [livejournal.com profile] needler, and a few small things for the weekend procured in expectation of my plan giving me spendage on the Saturday.
Friday night in the Spa was much better than thurs, for various reasons, more people to chat too. And having forgotten that The Claytowne Troupe were playing, as I stood at the back of the bandroom catching up with someone suddenly realising that I recognised who was playing and then the penny dropped, email details exchanged I headed off down the front. And well worth it, personally the band of the weekend for me. After some more socialising I headed back in to see how Zodiac Mindwarp was. It wasn't that special, and he didn't seem to have much go, ok so he nearly died in the summer, but judging by his face he looked, at the very least, a little the worse for drink (although I could be wrong).
Saturday arrived as did more fundage, so this in hand I plodded (or should I say Bimbled) down to the Spa to see what I could see at [livejournal.com profile] vagabonds, sad to find that all I could have gone for had flown the day before [livejournal.com profile] needler and [livejournal.com profile] spookyzo put my mind at rest that the future clothes wise will be brighter, or darker maybe, but definitely shiny. Future plans ahoy.
Realising that I had to buy something at least, a couple more things went into the bag followed closely by a Wolfsheim dvd.
I'd not packed any cds or dvds for the weekend, so needed something, and spending most of my time in the cottage in the living room, playing cds on a dvd is cool, but with the tv on, it just drags the eyes in, even if all you've got to look at is a large blue dvd logo. So a live (plus vids) dvd it was, which was good.
Saturday night at the Spa, better again, only saw some of Alien Sex Fiend.
They went on, a lot, but from what I did watch and boogie along too down the front I enjoyed, ok so most of the songs lasted around 10 minutes a piece but the dancibility was up there.
Spent time chatting with [livejournal.com profile] gothstevek and Lisa in between visits to the bar and looks into the band room, where ASF went on and on and ariston.
Sunday was relaxing day, had a hefty breakfast thanks to [livejournal.com profile] gipsy_queen which kept me going for the rest of the day. After which [livejournal.com profile] poggs wandered off into the ether leaving behind (untouched) his pair of Tigger socks that the Sock Fairy had left on Wednesday night (I'm sorry, they've been well and truly taxed now).
Sunday night came around as we headed off for the 80's night. And a great night it was, too a while for me to relax into Laughtons, and the queuing took nowhere near as long as I feared it would because of reports. Dancing was had, skipping (of sorts) was seen and enjoyed. Not enough Flock of Seagulls or Kajagoogoo (none in fact) for me, but the inclusion of 'Calling International Rescue' by We've Got a Fuzzbox and We're Going to Use It, did make me smile.
A last half hour dedicated to Saint John Peel, Teenage kicks then headed towards Vagabonds, Together in Electric Dreams and we headed out into cold and back cottage wise.

Monday involved shoppage, a wander up to the Abbey ( I made the steps in one go, looks like giving up smoking last year has helped :0P-) and many pictures taken. then back down for tea as cooked by [livejournal.com profile] ashe_black, one of many uber-meals prepared over the weekend.
A little wander over to the fire on the beach to wait for fireworks and frivolity, than back to tidy and pack for an early Tuesday trip home.
Needless to say this didn't happen, but in the end we got tidied, and on the road.
16.05 left Whitby
17.10 travelled 30 mile.
18.25 and another 50 miles down the road, we stop in for a visit.
19.00 on the road again.
21.00enter Sheffield
21.30 leave Sheffield.
23.45 wonder driver [livejournal.com profile] rainbowskye drops me off at home and heads off on her way. Believe she got back after 1am, too much of a trooper that girl.

Only other things of note were the kippers from Fortunes (spectacular) and Captain Cookes Cannon Balls from Justin's (A guaranteed orgasm with every bite!!!!)
I have plenty pics of the Abbey and the Grand Turk, I think they'll probably be uploaded wholesale at some point very soon.

That took more time than I was planning!
Time to get ready for tea then, and visitors this evening, for which I need more bilk and miccies :o)- ( ahh that reminds me of being stood in the kitchen talking about the fost oppice)
